Siroki Brijeg is the administrative seat of the West Herzegovina Canton. It is not only administratively, but it is also a spiritual and cultural center. The city itself has a population of just over 10,000 (the Municipality of Siroki Brijeg has 30,000 inhabitants), and the urban plan, with the urban suburban part, covers 1,168 ha (11.68km², and the entire Municipality of Siroki Brijeg covers 387.5 km²)of area, which is a good basis for further urban development of the city. In the metropolitan area, so far, 184 streets have been registered and named. Siroki Brijeg (city center) is located at 270 m above sea level, and thus belongs to that part of Herzegovina that we call low Herzegovina, even if a good part of the area of the Municipality of Siroki Brijeg belongs to the part that we call the highest part of the municipality) with the highest peak of “Bile stine” in Donji Crnač 1,571m above sea level. The town of Siroki Brijeg is set on the extremely important road Mostar – Split, and Mostar – Livno(Bihać – Zagreb). It is only 20 km away from Mostar, 30 km from Medjugorje and less than 80 km from the Adriatic coast.
In the well-tended Park Sajmiste in the center of Siroki Brijeg, cyclists can service their bike on the installed Totem, relax and enjoy the natural beauties that surround it.
