Snack bar “Vagon” is a catering facility that provides food and beverage services, but it is also a historical-memorial place that symbolizes the former railway that was connecting Zelenika with the rest of the Balkans, Europe and the World.
It is located on the route of the former railway between two important infrastructure facilities of the former railway: around 500m west of the initial railway station Zelenika and 300m east of the 178m long former railway tunnel “Lalovina” which was revitalized recently in the bicycle-pedestrian path Meljine-Zelenika.
Snack bar is a semi-museum facility that with its exhibition part: photographs, old railway lamps, train driver’s uniform, books and publication about railway, model of Zelenika with railway and the wagon itself in which the facility operates offers more than just catering but does not lag behind that activity by offering mostly local wines, beers, other drinks and food in order to bring Montenegrian tradition and culture closer to the visitor.
Also in the exterior there are elements preserved from the old railway such as the mileage marker from the former route and wagon itself.
A smaller nook inside the wagon is set aside for children to play with wooden toys and books and picture books for children about trains.
The interior is air conditioned to stay in winter and summer in a pleasant atmosphere and at a pleasant temperature. The wagon inside is consists of a bar for preparing drinks, a mini kitchen for preparing simple meals: plates, sandwiches, pancakes, a burger, salads and the like … and a clean toilet. In its extension few steps lower there is a covered terrace, and on the ground floor between the wagon and the bicycle/pedestrian path where the railway was is other part of the terrace.
